Learn About Senior Season:

 --- The Why

Why Is This So Important To Me?

My senior year arrived and I knew what was important to me - showing off my own sense of identity through:

MY clothes (band tees and converse)
MY favorite way to wear my hair, and
I wanted my friends to think ‘woah’ when I showed off my photos.

But I was also very aware that my mom was going to take me to Lifetouch and I was going to get a boring picture with a blue backdrop. Not exciting.

In fact, it turned from not exciting to kind of embarrassing.

My mom wanted me to bring things that were important to her. I had to wear my hair a way I didn’t like and ‘no black t-shirts allowed’ were the rule set for my senior portrait session. I was very uncomfortable and nobody ever saw those photos again after the proofs came to the house. I made sure of that.

So there was no point in doing any of that - all I learned was that I was embarrassed to be in front of a camera and who I was shouldn’t be emphasized.

Don’t be like me - don’t let what happened here be your story. You’re cooler and more interesting than a blue background. You deserve to treasure your senior portraits.

I Want Your Senior Photos To Reflect YOU

My approach is very student-led and I really encourage you to think out of the box (at least for part of the experience).

My dedication to every senior I work with is that you’re the voice we listen to when planning your session. We do that by going to places you love, highlighting things you love, and expressing yourself.

And when you do that, my humans, your beauty shines through.

No Limitations

I don't limit your number of outfits.

I don't limit your time with me.

Let's hit multiple locations (and I know some great ones!)

I even let you shoot with your friends if you want.

I Take Care Of Everything - So You Can Fully Enjoy The Experience

I have a process to help you speak your truth.

I schedule and provide professional hair and makeup for all sessions.

I handle everything with locations. I know this area like the back of my hand and I’ll do all the coordination for you.

I’m here to tell you that you should NOT be afraid to be in front of the camera - no matter who you are. I'll work with you every step of the way and I make sure you're comfortable.

All you have to do is enjoy yourself.

By The Way, There's No Law That Says Senior Portraits Have To Be a One-Off...

YOUR SENIOR YEAR IS MORE THAN A DAY - IT’S 365 DAYS OF LASTS. For that reason, I also offer a "Year in Review," which is like your own personal yearbook documenting your entire senior year.

You’ll have a last first day of school, a last day of class, a last lunch with your friends… and especially recently, you don’t really know when those ‘last’s will strike.  This is a great reason to make sure you’re covered for the year.

Yep. That’s right - you don’t need to plan out one senior session. Instead, you get at least five. They include at minimum:

  • A styled shoot with friends
  • A traditional senior portrait session
  • A family session
  • Prom coverage
  • A graduation session

And other great ideas are at your fingertips, such as

  • A college reveal session
  • A last first-day-of-school session
  • A shoot with other #humansof2021 seniors
  • And any other ideas you might have...

step 1

This starts on the phone or by video - being able to talk in real time is really important to me and the process After we talk, you can make your retainer payment of $299 on the phone or by invoice emailed straight to you. Dates are first come, first serve, and the fall fills up REALLY FAST, so don’t hesitate too much!

After you make your retainer payment, I will send you a senior questionnaire and my resources for making your session speak your truths. I also pick a few perfect locations and make arrangements with any special places (places on campus, places where you work or participate in something you love) for you. I also schedule hair and makeup.

Shooting is best done in the early morning or late afternoon, but I know this area like the back of my hand and I’ll do all the coordination for you. All you have to do is enjoy yourself. A parent is encouraged to come to the session. Parents, bring some walking shoes!

After we’re done, I’ll spend 1-2 weeks perfecting the final images for you. In the meantime, you’ll receive some emails about what to expect on reveal day. I’ll send pricing and guides for picking what’s right for you so you’ll come informed and excited!

On reveal day, we’ll meet at my office where you can enjoy a beverage as we see your portraits for the first time. You’ll get to use your retainer as a credit towards a package, if you want. My average client will spend between $800-$1200 on reveal day, but there is no requirement to spend a certain amount. Prints and digital images come in packages or a la carte to make sure you get what you want and nothing more. Your order is placed at reveal day and you go home with any digital files you purchase. The rest is shipped straight to your door in 2-4 weeks. After reveal day, keep an eye out on my blog to see your feature!
