WHY DOES JR PHOTOGRAPHY SPECIALIZE IN SENIORS?
You're cooler and much more interesting than a plain blue background.
Learn about my disastrous senior photo story and why I'm on a mission to give you the most expressive, amazing photos that you'll treasure.
Why Is This So Important To Me?
My senior year arrived and I knew what was important to me - showing off my own sense of identity through:
MY clothes (band tees and converse)
MY favorite way to wear my hair, and
I wanted my friends to think ‘woah’ when I showed off my photos.
But I was also very aware that my mom was going to take me to Lifetouch and I was going to get a boring picture with a blue backdrop. Not exciting.
In fact, it turned from not exciting to kind of embarrassing.
My mom wanted me to bring things that were important to her. I had to wear my hair a way I didn’t like and ‘no black t-shirts allowed’ were the rule set for my senior portrait session. I was very uncomfortable and nobody ever saw those photos again after the proofs came to the house. I made sure of that.
So there was no point in doing any of that - all I learned was that I was embarrassed to be in front of a camera and who I was shouldn’t be emphasized.
Don’t be like me - don’t let what happened here be your story. You’re cooler and more interesting than a blue background. You deserve to treasure your senior portraits.
I Want Your Senior Photos To Reflect YOU
My approach is very student-led and I really encourage you to think out of the box (at least for part of the experience).
My dedication to every senior I work with is that you’re the voice we listen to when planning your session. We do that by going to places you love, highlighting things you love, and expressing yourself.
And when you do that, my humans, your beauty shines through.
I Take Care Of Everything - So You Can Fully Enjoy The Experience
I have a process to help you speak your truth.
I schedule and provide professional hair and makeup for all sessions.
I handle everything with locations. I know this area like the back of my hand and I’ll do all the coordination for you.
I’m here to tell you that you should NOT be afraid to be in front of the camera - no matter who you are. I'll work with you every step of the way and I make sure you're comfortable.
All you have to do is enjoy yourself.
By The Way, There's No Law That Says Senior Portraits Have To Be a One-Off...
YOUR SENIOR YEAR IS MORE THAN A DAY - IT’S 365 DAYS OF LASTS. For that reason, I also offer a "Year in Review," which is like your own personal yearbook documenting your entire senior year.
You’ll have a last first day of school, a last day of class, a last lunch with your friends… and especially recently, you don’t really know when those ‘last’s will strike. This is a great reason to make sure you’re covered for the year.
Yep. That’s right - you don’t need to plan out one senior session. Instead, you get at least five. They include at minimum:
And other great ideas are at your fingertips, such as
